Prescription medications are fulfilled and shipped from Vetsource's pharmacy locations on the west and east coast. Therapeutic nutrition products may also ship from Vetsource warehouses or directly from our nutrition partners who have multiple warehouse locations across the country. Vetsource is an NABP pharmacy and LegitScript-verified pharmacy and fully licensed to distribute pharmaceutical products in all 50 states.

- Pet information such as name, age, weight and known allergies
- Veterinarian clinic name
A veterinarian approval typically takes one to three business days, and standard shipping takes four to five business days.
Both medications and therapeutic nutrition require a prescription from a veterinarian who has seen your pet within the last year. This Veterinary Client Patient Relationship (VCPR) is necessary to make sure the medication or diet is appropriate for your pet and is required before an order can be shipped.
There are multiple ways for the pharmacy to receive your pet’s prescription:
- Electronic approval: As part of the order process for a prescription item, Vetsource will ask you to select your veterinary clinic. Once you complete your order, Vetsource handles it from there! They will use the information provided to electronically route your request to your veterinarian for Confidential for Retail Partner Use Only Page 2 approval. This is the most efficient way for the pharmacy to process your pet’s prescription and fulfill your order in a timely manner.
- Written prescription: If your veterinarian requires you to submit a written prescription for outside pharmacy orders or if you have a physical prescription from your veterinarian and prefer to share that directly with Vetsource, you will need to take the following steps after you submit your order:
- If you don't already have the physical prescription, request one from your veterinarian
- Write your Order Number and Phone Number on the prescription
- Send your prescription to the pharmacy by one of the following options depending on the item you’re ordering:
- For therapeutic nutrition items, upload an image of the nutrition authorization in the Prescriptions section of your pharmacy account profile on familyfarmandhomerx.securevetsource.com
- For medication items, mail the original prescription to the following address. Due to state and federal regulations, the pharmacy cannot accept emails for medication prescriptions.

Refrigerated medications are delivered with UPS Overnight shipping in insulated packaging. Please check the shipment tracking link for the best estimated time of delivery. If shipping to extreme temperature zones, please consider shipping to a location where someone is available to receive the package promptly. If the product is left out, it may spoil and a refund will not be issued.
Orders over $49 and all Autoship orders ship free with standard shipping.

We are unable to take returns or offer refunds on prescription products due to state and federal laws prohibiting pharmacies from reselling prescription products. Therapeutic nutrition includes a manufacturer's guarantee. If your order arrives damaged or in any way defective, or if your pet refuses to eat the food, please call Vetsource at (877) 684-3294 for support.
